For the second time since it was established in the spring, last weekend, Fidesz gathered the members of the "Fight Club" for a two-day training. (We previously introduced the “Fight Club” and Fidesz's goal with it in this article.) Around 1500 activists committed to representing and disseminating the government’s view of the world and current issues on social media gathered at a summer camp in Zánka near Lake Balaton. During their two days there, leading government politicians and speakers from Fidesz's inner circle gave lectures on how to "fight in the digital realm".
Telex was able to acquire a recording of the speeches, including the one given by Viktor Orbán. We listened to them all to find out what the key figures in Fidesz's election campaign had to say to those considered their most committed supporters who are expected to help Fidesz win the 2026 elections.

One of the speakers was Magor Dukász. He is head of the Digital Sovereignty Center, which is supposedly independent from the government. As such, Dukász is an important behind-the-scenes figure in Fidesz's campaign.
His speech made it clear that as far as politicians from the ruling parties (Fidesz and KDNP) and Fidesz’s opinion leaders go, he knows everything that goes on with them and around them on the internet. He pointed out that according to their research "Facebook reels have really taken off", and the 2026 campaign will be all about them. That's why he encouraged the Fight Club members to make as many reels as possible.
He also pointed out that political content has started to generate more engagement in 2025. According to Dukász, this is because Mark Zuckerberg had made an agreement with Donald Trump that he would allow political content back on Meta "in the name of free speech." As a result,
“politics is now sexy on social media, and it is generating huge interaction numbers."
For this reason he advised activists to feel free to post political content, because as he said: the algorithm would reward them. He also added that they should make sure to post often, because the algorithm likes that.
The sure path to success: artificial intelligence
According to Dukász, videos created using artificial intelligence are a sure path to success – we have already written about how Fidesz has increasingly been using AI-generated videos in its campaign. On this subject, Dukász pointed out that “we, on the Right, are much further ahead in this respect than the Left. As funny videos of Péter Magyar come one after the other, they amuse us all and we can have a good laugh.” In his opinion, people are drawn to AI videos because they immediately see that they are not real and can tell that “this one's gonna be funny.”
Dukász also gave guidance for those who are unsure what to post about or even comment on. He reminded the training's participants that on a daily basis, Viktor Orbán posts a story highlighting the focus for that day and he also sends a letter to Fight Club members about it, instructing them to post about these topics.
Towards the end of his instruction, the head of the Digital Sovereignty Center also pointed out one area Fight Club members should be wary of: venturing into the opponent's territory. This was something that one of Megafon’s most successful digital warriors, Dániel Bohár also spoke about. As he put it:
"If you go to Telex's comment section and express your opinion so that they can learn from it, you're not doing anything wrong. But it's better if you spend your energy on our own people."
Minister of Construction and Transportation János Lázár gave Fidesz’s digital fighters a crash course in what the best arguments to use are. As he said, these are ones he himself also uses frequently:
- This is a half-finished country, and only we can make it great.
- Only Fidesz can be better than Fidesz.
- Over the past 15 years, there has been more good than bad.
Orbán: We are fearless
When the Prime Minister came out to speak, he was greeted with thunderous applause and cheers. Viktor Orbán explained to the Fight Club members that the fact that political campaigns in Hungary have become ruthless and sometimes harsh is not because Hungarians are ruthless and harsh, but because this is what politics has come to be like all over the world. As an example, he cited the assassination attempt against Donald Trump. He said that Western countries are unable to find solutions to the global challenges and answer people's questions, which is why they are in crisis. "We (in Hungary – ed) are not noticing this, but it's a daily reality for others," he said.
According to Orbán, if Fidesz had not won the previous elections, Hungary would today be facing the same problems as Western countries, which are on a downward slope. In his view, although Hungary is poorer, it is on an upward trajectory.
That's why
he believes that the fate of the country depends on whether the Fight Club members will get the job done and "win us the election."
In order for the superiority Fidesz enjoys in real life to be asserted in the digital sphere, we must at least have a draw on social media – Orbán said, adding that this is why the Fight Club and the Digital Civic Circles were created.
Orbán summed. up what is at stake in the upcoming elections, which is something he has mentioned publicly many times: either we will follow the path of Brussels, or we will stay on the Hungarian path. "The battle we are fighting may not always be aesthetically pleasing, but it is a good battle. Our struggle is a good one, and that is basically what makes us fearless," he said.
