This is a political message for Brussels – Lázár on the “financial shield” the US is to provide for Hungary

Other than exactly what “the financial shield of protection” the Hungarian and American president agreed upon meant, we also asked the Minister of Transport and Construction about the Tisza Party application data leak.

Once the personal data of 200,000 Hungarians who had submitted it to the application appeared on the internet, several pro-government news outlets published a map showing where individuals whose data was in the leaked file lived, and a paper published in Lázár’s constituency went as far as listing the names and addresses of some from the region whose data was in the Tisza application.

It was a pro-government news outlet that first broke the news that there’s a file containing the personal information of up to two hundred thousand users of the Tisza Party application, Tisza Világ that recently ‘appeared’ online. According to the paper, it is clear that the application was developed by a Ukrainian company, but the party claims that they worked with Hungarian experts.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the fact that the personal data of Hungarians “fell into Ukrainian hands poses a serious national security risk," so he ordered an immediate investigation into the details of the case.

At the same time, the Tisza Party said: “The database isn't ours, and it includes a bunch of contradictions, manipulated elements, and deliberately misleading information gathered from outside sources.” Péter Magyar of the Tisza Party called the event “theft” and even went as far as blaming the Russian secret service for it.
